GrantsSouth Gloucestershire Council is committed to working with Farmers and Landowners to conserve and enhance the landscape character and biodiversity of South Gloucestershire.

Grant aid of 50% to a maximum of £500 is available for the restoration, management, and/or the creation of:

  • Ponds ditches and other wetlands.
  • Native mixed species hedgerows.
  • Species rich grasslands.
  • Traditional Orchards.
  • Other features of importance to priority biodiversity habitats and species in South Gloucestershire.

The Environment Grant will support projects that help to achieve the following:

  • Conservation or enhancement of our open spaces and countryside
  • Protection and enhancement of biodiversity
  • Promotion of low carbon, sustainable and healthy lifestyles
  • Promotion or improvement of access to our countryside and open spaces.
  • Increased community involvement in protecting and appreciating the natural and cultural environment
  • Appreciation of the natural environment through celebratory events, learning projects, interpretation and the arts
